Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine.
Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
We are a team of photographers who started the journey of photography in 2012. We were both students completing our Master’s Degree when we decided to start the business. Deepak Das is a Mtech in IT, and Kakali Das, my wife and partner, has an M.A in Mass Communication and Journalism from Tezpur University. We began with doing wedding photography initially and then moved to fashion. When we realized that people were showering love upon our work, we became more confident about expanding our work to Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Jaipur and other cities in India. Currently, we are into ad films and fashion photography too.
How you and your service is helping society?
At weddings, we always capture moments the couple can cherish for a lifetime. It can be a sensitive and very emotional process to shoot. You get happy and sad emotions at the same time. We always try to get the perfect moment. These moments make our clients content which is how we think we help society.
What is the USP of your work?
We never miss a moment. We have multiple conversations and meetings with our clients, conferring every detail of the wedding and how it should take place so that we know everything to avoid missing to capture a perfect moment.
What are your vision and mission?
Excellence, if I have to say. We always aim to meet and exceed clients’ expectations. We always look for ways with the team to achieve better service, quality photography and products and are committed to never-ending improvement. Never disappoint our clients by always giving them better than what they might have presumed.
What are your achievements in this industry?
As wedding photographers, we covered a beautiful destination wedding in Koh Samui, Thailand, back in 2019.
In fashion, we have been the official photographers of the Femina Miss India NorthEast Auditions in 2017. We have had the privilege to work on the famous Flamingo Health Ad shoot with the favourite Hritik Roshan, another with Kiara Advani for Softline Leggings, and with veteran actors like Paresh Rawal and Ashok Beniwal for various brands.
Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
Yes, of course, we get exhausted. It feels very monotonous sometimes, but the best way to stay motivated towards it is to not stop and keep shooting something or the other. The best way to divert yourself from getting tired and trying to get as many candids as possible is to shoot every minute detail of the wedding. Fashion is not like that; we had set a time, and we shot and finished. Waiting is very much in fashion ad shoots. But again, weddings are a beautiful thing to live, shoot and enjoy, so there are fewer times when we get exhausted.
If we get super cooperative and sporty clients, then we are the happiest people in the world.
What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
We are both, in some ways, opposite to each other. I love playing cricket, exploring new online stuff and listening to music (very loud at times). My wife loves dancing. She has two bunnies with whom she loves spending time and playing with them. Exercise is a crucial part of her life.
You have achieved so much in life. Any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life?
We still have a long, long way to go. Still, If I have to say something, then always be patient, kind, and consistent in what you do. Success will follow you.
