Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
Hey, I’m Drishti Soni, a Raipur-based makeup artist for the past 7 years. I’m mainly a bridal makeup artist.
How you and your service is helping society?
So I believe in quality work and honesty. If you are honest with your client, they will approach you next time. I always understand the wants and needs of my bride or clients. I discuss things with them and give them exactly what they want.
What is the USP of your work?
My USP is to give a skin-like finish to makeup, which looks super classy at the same time as natural and beautiful. Because client satisfaction is my number one priority, I only apply makeup that makes my clients feel confident. Also, my key is to keep the skin protected even when they are wearing makeup because if your skin is great, your makeup will look flawless.
What are your vision and mission?
After completing my studies, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to be or what my goals were, but I was sure that I wanted to do something on the creative side, so I decided to go for this and be a makeup artist. This business is never going to stop, and it is something that pumps me up every morning. I believe you should choose a job that excites you every day, and it will be possible only if you set your goals and vision. Without a vision, it is difficult to achieve anything in life. You need to know the destination before you set out, and only when you know where you want to go will you be able to achieve something in life. If you are working on something that is exciting and that you care about, then you don’t have to be pushed. Your vision will pull you.
Talking about my mission I have my goals set. In the future, I wanted to see myself as a successful makeup artist and an educator. I love dolling up the brides. It’s something that I will never stop doing because the amount of love I get from them is unbelievable and it pumps me up when I see a happy bride, so my vision and mission are very clear. I want to be a successful bridal makeup expert and a good educator by the grace of God.
What are your achievements in this industry?
Learning and achievement never stop. I guess the more we learn, the more we achieve, and I’m grateful that I learned from amazing mentors in my life. I have learned from various academics in Delhi and Mumbai. I’m certified by and am also certified in VTCT internationally by MSTC. Seema V. Jerajani, Swati Verma, Isha Khanna, Michelly Palma, Am Hair Craft, Gaurav Bharadwaj, and celebrity makeup artist Ojas Rajani. I have done various skincare certifications as well.
I have done makeup for over (800-1000) people for various events: wedding functions, magazine seminars, and many more. I have done lots of workshops and seminars, and I did work on runaways back in 2018 when I was in Mumbai. I did some celebrity faces there, including Niharika Tiwari (ex-Roadies) and Mansi Sharma (Sunny Weds Ginny). I also did various collaborations with big jewellers from my city, like Shubh Diamonds, Royal Diamonds, etc. I have travelled a lot for my work (especially brides). I have brides from big cities like Chennai, Surat, Pune, and Lucknow.
I am so grateful to God that he has showered me so many blessings by his grace and, of course, my hard work is what I am today.
Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
My work has never felt like that to me, and I always keep myself motivated by trying out new makeup looks.
I try different techniques and do various experiments. While sometimes I fail, I still never give up. Once I decide on doing something, I won’t stop until I succeed.
What services or products do you offer and how is it beneficial for your customers or clients?
In terms of services, we have a wide range of services that are beneficial for all categories of clients. We do HD, Ultra HD, and airbrush makeup, and all the products we use are international brands, so there are no compromises there.
We work according to the client’s budget. My team and I make sure that none of our clients is disappointed, and till now it has never happened. I have set a standard price for all my clients, which they can afford and still get the best quality work. I also never compromise on my skincare products, because if your skin glows, then only your makeup will be flawless.
You have achieved so much in life. Any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to help them grow in life?
My advice is to never stop chasing your dreams and goals. Remember, success always comes after failure. When you fail, you realize your mistakes. There will be lots of hurdles that will come your way, but the one thing that makes you pumped up is your desired goal. Also, I truly believe that if you are getting any opportunities, recognize them, and when you recognised it you have to seize the day and work very hard. Give quality work regardless of the client or client budget; always give your all; it will all be worth it in the end.
