Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine.
Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
Hello, I am Kavita Bardia. I am a saree drape artist. I drape sarees in 200+ styles. I draped sarees on skirts, denim, jeggings, sharara, garara, lehenga, gowns, and dresses. Saree draping is a passion of mine. I fondly call myself “Saree Drapenure”. My endeavor name is “The Drape Story by Kavita Bardia.” I have developed a unique style of my own, reflecting the ancient tradition of India in a contemporary vocabulary. I believe in creating classicism for Indian women across the globe.
I am a life, relationship, and parenting coach and trainer. I help clients by helping them identify their goals and then developing a process to achieve them. I try to support individuals and couples in learning vital skills for relating, especially in marriages, conflict resolution skills, and offer tools to deepen the relationships. My endeavor here is “समीक्षा_The Analysis of Life”.
I am a cooking expert. I have a vegetarian multi-cuisine YouTube cooking channel called “Food And Passion By Kavita Bardia.”
I also have a marketing MBA and am currently pursuing a law degree.
How you and your service is helping society and what is the USP of your work?
I have noticed that most women have a misconception that sarees are outdated or out of fashion and that they limit mobility. But the key is effective draping, which sets out A saree is a unique attire that enhances the beauty of women. It’s six-yard magic or sheer elegance. I’m rediscovering my love for this timeless classic! I try to incorporate the designer’s vision and the bride’s wishes into the wedding, but the bride is the priority. I was a homemaker and used to get compliments for the way I wore sarees. So I started helping people drape sarees and teaching them the skill. I would go anywhere to drape anyone. Each woman was a learner for me because her structure and taste were different, and even the textile was different.
Being a life-relationship parenting coach I believe in strengthening relationships. Parenting has always been challenging as we are dealing with small toddlers who are the future of any nation. It has to be done diligently and with open-mindedness. Similarly, relationships are like a small sample that requires water, shade, sunshine, etc. Deficiency or excess of anything leads to decay. Educating women about financial independence has been my motto. Women need to be financially independent to preempt emergencies. Set a good example. A woman who can support the needs of the family financially, socially, emotionally, and so on is a role model for her children to show them that gender bias is created by society and doesn’t mean anything when a woman is strong, confident, and sure of herself.
My youtube channel on cooking has an easy recipe with easily available ingredients & that too, pure vegetarian. It is multi-cuisine. It has eggless baking, Continental, Mediterranean, Italian, Chinese, North Indian, etc. Hindi-language restaurant-style cooking at home.
What are your vision and mission?
I feel women should be financially independent. In India, it’s challenging many times. Under such circumstances, it’s important to be financially literate. She should be aware of her husband’s financial investment and other details. In case there is any uncertainty, she doesn’t have to depend on relatives.
For me, women’s empowerment means promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others. The empowerment of women must be categorised into five main parts: social, educational, economic, political, and psychological. Have the courage to believe in love one more time, and always one more time. Sometimes two people have to fall apart to realise how much they need to fall back together. Love alone can rekindle life. A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. Help people to develop strong bonds. Always remember that professional success and happiness come with a happy relationship. That’s a pillar to a happy life. There is no such thing as a perfect parent. Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first. We never know the love of a parent until we become parents ourselves. Let parents bequeath to their children not riches, but the spirit of reverence.
