Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine.
Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
I am a Poetess, Author, and a Communication Specialist.
I have a Master’s Degree in Psychology and have always been fond of writing.
Poetry is my way of constructively using life experiences to spread awareness about various mental health and other social issues.
I recently stepped into the shoes of an author with my debut novel – It Is I, a psychological thriller based on the concept of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).
How are you and your service helping society?
I believe that any form of art is an expression of our deepest emotions. For me, poetry is like therapy. I use my words to exorcise the demons that threaten to cause havoc within my soul. I am fortunate to have found like-minded writers and poets who not only identify with the emotions I express but also help me stay strong and sane.
My poems help spread awareness about the importance of mental and emotional health and give people a chance to openly discuss what is bothering them the most.
What is the USP of your work?
I write from my heart. The emotions I express are honest and raw and I feel that is what draws people to my poems. Simple language and simple words also help more people identify and understand the feelings expressed.
What are your Vision and Mission?
I envision creating a safe place where people can discuss issues of mental and emotional health without the fear of judgment.
My mission is to create a more empathetic society where issues of the heart and mind are not considered to be taboo subjects.
What are your achievements in this industry?

Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated toward it?
I love writing and so, it never feels tedious. I do, however, encounter Writer’s Block like all other poets and fellow authors but I keep going. I don’t let anything stop me. If I am unable to write, you will find me reading.
Reading helps me break through the block and express myself again. Sometimes, we poets also need inspiration and the best way to find some is to read.
What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
I am extremely lucky that my hobby is also my profession. There isn’t much I like to do besides writing and reading. Listening to music and spending time with my family, friends and my cat are also activities I enjoy.
You have achieved so much in life, any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life?
I personally feel that there is still a lot I need to learn before I can start giving out advice. I would, however, just like to mention for all others one very important thing that I learnt – Never compromise on quality for quantity.
Do whatever brings you joy and in the process always remember to be true to YOURSELF!!
