Hello! I’m Anjali Tank, an independent woman residing in the vibrant city of Rajkot. I am a professional mehndi artist, a craft I have dedicated myself to for many years. My journey with mehndi started in my younger days, inspired by the intricate patterns and the joy it brings to people.
For over a decade, I’ve not only perfected my skills but also shared this beautiful art with many through workshops and community events. My passion for creating unique, traditional, and modern designs fuels my drive, making each creation special and memorable.
Mehndi for me is more than a profession; it’s an expression of creativity and a bridge to connect with others through celebration and art. The independence I hold allows me to channel my passion freely and continue to inspire others through this cherished craft.
How you and your service is helping society?
Through my work as a professional mehndi artist, I aim to bring beauty and joy into people’s lives. I take custom orders to create unique and meaningful mehndi designs that enhance celebrations and special moments for individuals. Beyond this, I am committed to empowering others by offering training sessions, especially to underprivileged individuals, at no cost.
These classes provide them with an opportunity to learn a new skill, develop confidence, and open up pathways for earning a living. By sharing my expertise, I help others become self-reliant and foster a supportive community where we can work together and spread positivity and creativity through the art of mehndi.
What is the USP of your work?
The unique selling point (USP) of my work lies in my dedication to understanding my clients’ visions and bringing them to life with intricate, personalized designs. I begin each session by listening closely to what they imagine for their mehndi, ensuring that every pattern reflects their individual style and personality. I am passionate about sharing the art of mehndi as a means of financial independence, allowing women to work from their homes and support their families without facing the limitations of traditional job settings. I believe that art holds the same value as formal education—it can inspire growth, foster independence, and create a sense of fulfillment. Through this shared journey of creativity, I aim to transform lives and build a community that celebrates both beauty and empowerment, one intricate design at a time.
What are your achievements in this industry?
I’ve been grateful to receive immense appreciation and respect throughout my journey as a professional mehndi artist. During my early years in school and college, I won several local and regional mehndi competitions, showcasing my dedication and passion for this intricate art form. One of my most memorable achievements was earning a top spot in a state-level competition, which reaffirmed my belief in my craft and motivated me to push my creative boundaries further.
I have also had the privilege of sharing my expertise as a judge at prominent events, which was both an honor and a testament to my growth in the field. These achievements would not have been possible without my hard work, the constant support of my loved ones, and the blessings of my family. Their encouragement has been the driving force that keeps my passion alive and inspires me to continue sharing my art with the world.
Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
I’ve never found my work to be tedious—every day brings something unique and exciting! My passion for mehndi keeps me inspired, allowing me to approach each design with fresh eyes and enthusiasm. I love the creative challenge of coming up with new patterns and personalizing them for each client, making sure their experience is special and memorable.
What keeps me driven is knowing that mehndi is more than just a job; it’s an art form that connects me to culture, tradition, and people. Each client I work with brings a story, and I get to be part of their celebrations and cherished moments. The joy I see in their eyes after completing a design is what motivates me to continue and reminds me why I fell in love with this art in the first place.
What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
Beyond my work as a mehndi artist, I have several hobbies that bring joy and balance to my life. I am an avid home baker who loves creating delicious treats and cakes for friends and family on special occasions. Experimenting with new recipes and flavors in the kitchen is one of my favorite pastimes, as it satisfies both my creative spirit and love for good food.
I also have a deep interest in art and crafts, which allows me to explore different forms of creativity beyond mehndi. Whether it’s painting, DIY projects, or making handmade gifts, these activities keep my days vibrant and inspire me in countless ways. These hobbies help me relax and recharge, ensuring that my passion for my profession stays strong and my life remains full of creativity.

To grow in life, it’s vital to nurture your passion and pair it with hard work and determination. Set clear goals and approach them step by step with consistency and patience. Effective time management is a game-changer—knowing how to balance your tasks and prioritize helps you stay productive and avoid burnout.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that treating people with kindness and respect goes a long way.
