Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine

Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
Hello! I’m Manasa. I was always inclined towards giving back to society in some way, since my younger days. Although I was not clear how to go about it.
After months of thinking, on 02-Jan-2021, I officially started an Instagram Page – Prajna. Prajna means ‘Highest Wisdom’ ‘Because we rise by lifting others’ – is the quote I had come across and it’s a powerful one. I strongly believe in this quote. It felt right for the moment to start from whatever little I had. The driving force behind starting was that, my belief in the fact that ‘Each person can make a difference’. We may not be able to help 100 people, but surely we can reach one person and help in whichever way we can.

How you and your service is helping society?
I’m passionate about working towards education, women & child health. I’m the founder of Prajna and I solely manage the activities. My service ensures that it reaches where there is actual need. Before starting my work, I approach NGO and ask in depth about their present requirements/needs. I work it out and discuss with them and I personally ensure that my service, not only meets their needs but also reaches the organization on time.

What is the USP of your work?
The USP of my work is that I reach out and serve people/NGOs at the grassroots level. There are lots of them who are unable to reach out for help due lack of awareness of how to reach/advertise. The toughest part of my journey has been to reach out to people who are at the grassroots level. They are the people who actually need help. Social media (predominantly Instagram) has been great help throughout my journey of 2+ years.

What are your Vision and Mission?
My main vision behind starting my Instagram page solely dedicated to social work is to able to reach people who have been actively involved in this work, build connections for collaborations and be more authentic & transparent. Another motto is to be able to create a chain of a community of individuals who believe that ‘every individual can make a difference and so do they’. I believe in action. My mission is to create a positive chain of action – A few of them have inspired me in this journey and I believe that the work I do, will inspire someone in one way or the other to do their bit.

What are your achievements in this industry?
The outcomes have been positive so far. I believe, if the intentions are pure, then things will eventually work out for them. I literally started clueless and slowly, it picked up pace. It started as simple as a book donation drive. I donated my old storybook/novels and it was donated to a children’s library for the children residing in the slum areas. I had that sense of satisfaction. I have made a few close connections in this field. I believe in the power of collaboration. It can go a long way.
I have been able to measure the impact, of the requests I get from my close ones that they want to be part of the activities I do.
Apart from this, I have got offers for collaboration from a few NGOs for interviews related to my journey. I have been invited as a speaker for an NGO related to healthcare & telemedicine, where I spoke at length to villagers about basic health & hygiene.

Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated toward it?
Prajna is my calling and it’s a part of me now. The areas I work for, are also close to my heart. Since I’m passionate about serving the community, I’m motivated to give my best. Hence, I don’t feel tedious. I read stories of people who have touched the lives of people by engaging in community work, which also helps me to stay dedicated.

What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
Apart from my work, I love travelling and exploring new places. I enjoy trying experimenting with new cuisines, trying different restaurants and reading books.

You have achieved so much in life, any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life?
I would like to tell everyone – Be fearless. Authentic. Have a Voice! Work hard And Never Give Up!
