Could you tell us about yourself and your work?

I am Puneet Pal Singh Chawla, a restauranteur with a deep passion for food, people, and purposeful living. My journey has been shaped by hands-on experience, resilience, and a strong belief in consistency and quality over shortcuts.
As second generation leader of Punnu Biriyani, a brand built on the idea that food should not just satisfy hunger, my work revolves around not just food but also emotions, memories and trust.
My work revolves around building scalable food concepts that combine authentic traditional taste with standardized processes, and strong brand values. Over the years, I have learned that a successful business is not just about profit, but about responsibility towards customers, employees, and society.

How you and your service is helping society?
My work contributes to society on multiple levels. First and foremost, through my food venture, I aim to provide hygienic, affordable, and consistently good quality food to a wide audience. In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, reliable food options are essential, and my focus is on maintaining trust and standards without compromising on taste.
Secondly, my business generates employment opportunities, especially for local staff, kitchen workers, delivery teams, and young individuals who want to learn and grow in the food industry. I believe in training people, not just hiring them, so they can build long-term careers rather than short-term jobs.
Additionally, I actively promote ethical business practices—fair pricing, transparent operations, and respect for customers. I also believe that food businesses have a responsibility to reduce wastage and operate with discipline and planning.
When a business operates with integrity and intention, it naturally contributes to society’s well-being, and that is the path I strive to follow.

What is the USP of your work?
The USP of my work lies in combining traditional recipes with modern taste preferences. I work with authentic masalas that appeal to older generations while carefully adapting flavors to suit younger customers, helping them stay connected to Indian cuisine.
I also introduce healthier options such as low-oil dishes and light preparations to cater to health-conscious consumers. Alongside this, I maintain strict standardisation across all processes to ensure consistent quality and taste.
My approach is rooted in authenticity, hands-on involvement, and a long-term vision focused on sustainable growth and brand trust.

What are your Vision and Mission?
My vision is to build a food brand that becomes synonymous with trust, consistency, and quality. I want Punnu Biryani to be remembered not just for its taste, but for its systems, values, and customer loyalty.
My mission is to create scalable food models that can grow without losing authenticity. This includes setting clear SOPs, training teams effectively, maintaining hygiene standards, and continuously improving based on customer feedback.
Ultimately, my goal is to prove that Indian food brands can grow big without compromising on ethics, taste, or values—and that success achieved with patience and integrity is the most powerful form of success.

What are your achievements in this industry?
One of my key achievements is establishing Punnu Biryani as a recognizable and trusted brand in a highly competitive food market. Establishing standardization in recipes and operations while maintaining authentic taste and quality has been a significant milestone.

Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
Yes, like any long-term journey, there are phases when work feels repetitive or challenging. The food industry demands constant attention, consistency, and problem-solving, which can be mentally exhausting at times.
What keeps me motivated is purpose clarity. Regular self-reflection, gratitude, and inner alignment help me stay calm and focused even under pressure.
Lastly, customer appreciation, team growth, and small daily wins keep me energized. I believe motivation comes and goes, but discipline stays—and discipline is what carries you forward when motivation is low.

What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
Outside of my professional life, I have a strong inclination towards spiritual practices, self-reflection, and personal growth. These help me stay mentally balanced and emotionally strong. I enjoy reading and learning about mindset, discipline, and success philosophies.
Spending quality time with family are equally important to me. I believe hobbies don’t always have to be loud; sometimes, quiet routines shape the strongest personalities.

You have achieved so much in life, any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life.
My biggest advice is: don’t rush success. Build skills, systems, and discipline before chasing growth. Consistency beats talent when talent is inconsistent. Secondly, accept that failures and slow phases are part of the journey. Instead of complaining, learn from them. Every delay is teaching you something valuable.
Third, stay grounded. Success without humility is temporary. Treat people well—customers, staff, partners—because reputation travels faster than marketing.
