Interview by The Success Today

Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
I am Dr. Rishabh Verma, Founder and Managing Director of Nutrillion, a brand under Nutrivison Wellness & Genetics Private Limited. My professional journey has been shaped by a strong interest in business, nutrition, health, and, eventually, personalized healthcare.
I did not begin my journey with the intention of building a healthcare company. My early professional exposure was in business and finance, but over time I became increasingly curious about why conventional approaches to health did not work equally well for everyone. That curiosity led me deeper into nutrition, sports nutrition, genetics, gut health, and nutrigenomics.
Today, my work is focused on building a healthcare ecosystem where nutrition is not treated as a generic diet chart but as an individualized health strategy. Through Nutrillion, we combine nutritional science, lifestyle factors, medical history, genetics, gut health, metabolism, and technology to create more personalized approaches to health and wellness.
We have worked with more than 4,000 individuals across 10+ countries, and this experience has reinforced my belief that every individual has a different biological story.
Beyond healthcare services, I am also passionate about education. Through Nutrillion Academy, we are working to equip the next generation of nutrition professionals with stronger scientific and practical foundations.
At the heart of everything I do is one simple belief: healthcare should understand the individual, not just the average.

How you and your service is helping society?
I believe our biggest contribution to society is helping people move from reactive healthcare towards preventive and personalized health management.
For decades, nutrition has often been communicated through generalized advice; eat this, avoid that, reduce calories, lose weight, or follow a particular diet. But human beings are not identical. Our genetics, metabolism, lifestyle, environment, gut health, medical history, food habits, and goals can all influence how we respond to nutrition.
At Nutrillion, we are trying to bridge this gap by bringing personalization into nutrition and preventive healthcare. Our approach combines scientific information with practical nutritional guidance so that individuals can better understand their own health and make more informed decisions.
Our work with thousands of individuals has also helped us understand that health cannot be reduced to a single number on a weighing scale. This thinking led to the development of the Nutrillion Health Matrix, which looks at multiple dimensions of health rather than focusing on weight alone.
Technology is another important part of our mission. Through the Nutrillion platform and app, we are working to make professional nutrition guidance more accessible and structured.
I also believe that societal change requires education. That is why Nutrillion Academy is an important part of our larger vision- to create knowledgeable nutrition professionals who can contribute meaningfully to healthcare.
Ultimately, I want our work to help people understand that prevention is not something we think about after becoming sick; it should begin much earlier.

What is the USP of your work?
The biggest USP of my work is personalization. I have always believed that there is no universal diet that can work perfectly for every individual. Two people may have the same health goal but completely different biological, nutritional, lifestyle, and environmental requirements. That is why Nutrillion was built around the philosophy of moving beyond one-size-fits-all nutrition.
What makes our approach distinctive is that we are building an ecosystem rather than offering nutrition consultation as a standalone service. Nutrillion brings together personalized nutrition, preventive healthcare, technology, genetics, gut health, metabolism, lifestyle, and data-driven insights.
Our Nutrillion application and digital platform make this approach more accessible by bringing personalized nutrition support, health information, monitoring, and professional guidance into one ecosystem. The objective is to make healthcare more convenient, continuous, and user-centric.
At the same time, Nutrillion Academy represents the education pillar of our vision. Through the Academy, we are working to build stronger foundations in nutrition and body physiology and prepare aspiring nutrition professionals to understand the science behind personalized healthcare.
For me, the real USP is this combination of personalized healthcare + technology + education. We are not simply asking, “What diet works?” We are asking, “What approach is right for this individual, and how technology can and scientific knowledge make that journey better?”
That is the future of nutrition and healthcare that I want Nutrillion to help build.

What are your Vision and Mission?
My vision is to contribute towards a healthier and more disease-preventive society where personalized nutrition becomes an integral part of healthcare rather than an afterthought.
I envision a future where people understand their health before a disease becomes advanced, where nutrition is guided by science rather than trends, and where healthcare decisions are increasingly personalized according to an individual’s biology, lifestyle, environment, and goals.
Nutrillion is built around this vision.
Our mission is to make personalized, science-led healthcare more accessible and meaningful. We want to combine nutrition, genetics, gut health, technology, data-driven insights, and professional human guidance to help individuals take greater ownership of their health.
But I also believe that building a healthier society cannot happen through consultations alone. Education is equally important. This is one of the reasons we created Nutrillion Academy to build stronger foundations in nutrition and body physiology and empower aspiring professionals with scientific knowledge and practical understanding.
Our long-term objective is not simply to build a successful company. It is to build an ecosystem that creates measurable health impact at scale.
I want Nutrillion to stand for a different philosophy of healthcare: predictive rather than merely reactive, preventive rather than purely curative, and personalized rather than generalized.
If we can help people understand their bodies better, make informed choices, and prevent avoidable health problems, then we will have achieved something much bigger than business success.

What are your achievements in this industry?
When I look back at my journey, I consider the impact created to be more important than any individual award or recognition. One of the milestones I am most proud of is that Nutrillion has worked with more than 4,000 individuals across 10+ countries. Every person we work with represents a different health journey, and the experience of understanding those journeys has contributed significantly to how we have developed our approach to personalized nutrition.
I am also honored to have received an honorary doctorate recognizing my contribution to the field of Genetics, Nutrition and Health Sciences. For me, the recognition is meaningful because it represents years of learning, experimentation, challenges, and commitment to the field.
Another achievement close to my heart is building Nutrillion from an idea into a broader healthcare ecosystem. Today, our work extends beyond personalized nutrition consultations into technology, digital healthcare, research-oriented thinking, and education.
The development of the Nutrillion Health Matrix is another important milestone because it reflects our belief that health should be understood through multiple interconnected dimensions rather than a single metric.
More recently, Nutrillion Academy has become an important extension of my vision. Through our Certification Foundation Programs, we are working towards strengthening nutrition education.
I have also had the opportunity to speak as a special guest on subjects such as nutrigenomics and personalized nutrition, sharing my perspective with learners and professionals.
And as an author, writing Failure Is Not an Option has allowed me to share another part of my journey—the lessons that came from setbacks, persistence, and rebuilding.
For me, the greatest achievement is still the journey ahead.

Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
Absolutely. Entrepreneurship and healthcare are not always exciting. There are days filled with repetitive work, difficult decisions, uncertainty, setbacks, and responsibilities that people outside the organization may never see.
But I have learned that purpose makes difficult work meaningful.
Whenever I feel exhausted or overwhelmed, I remind myself why I started. Nutrillion was not created simply to build another nutrition brand. It came from a deeper frustration with the generalized way health and nutrition are often approached. I wanted to create something that could make healthcare more personalized, scientific, and preventive.
The people we work with are also a constant source of motivation. When you see someone understand their health better, become more consistent, improve their lifestyle, or simply regain confidence in their ability to take care of themselves, the difficult days become easier to put into perspective.
I also believe that founders have to remain students. I continue to read, learn, attend discussions, interact with professionals, explore new research, and challenge my own assumptions. Fields such as nutrigenomics, microbiome science, nutrition, and health technology are constantly evolving, so there is always something new to learn.
Most importantly, I have developed a relationship with failure. I don’t see failure as the opposite of success. I see it as part of the process.
My personal philosophy is reflected in the title of my book, Failure Is Not an Option. Setbacks may be unavoidable, but giving up is a choice.
That mindset keeps me moving forward.

What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
My professional life is closely connected to my interests, but I also believe that a person needs interests outside their work to maintain perspective.
I have always been curious about learning. Reading is one of the things I genuinely enjoy, particularly subjects related to human behaviour, business, health, psychology, leadership, entrepreneurship, and emerging scientific developments. I enjoy understanding how different ideas connect and how knowledge can be converted into something practical.
I am also interested in fitness and sports. My exposure to sports nutrition has made me particularly interested in the relationship between nutrition, performance, recovery, and human physiology. It has also influenced the way I think about health not simply as the absence of disease, but as the ability to perform, function, and live well.
Entrepreneurship itself is another major interest of mine. I enjoy understanding businesses, studying how organizations grow, exploring technology, and thinking about how healthcare can be made more accessible through digital platforms.
I also value conversations with people from different backgrounds. Every interaction teaches you something, and some of my strongest ideas have come from conversations rather than textbooks.
And, of course, writing has become an important creative outlet for me. Writing Failure Is Not an Option gave me an opportunity to reflect on my own experiences and share the lessons I learned through difficult phases.
Ultimately, I think my interests all have one common thread: curiosity. I like learning, questioning, experimenting, and discovering what is possible.

You have achieved so much in life, any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life.
If I could share one piece of advice, it would be this: don’t build your life around avoiding failure; build it around becoming capable of handling it.
Success rarely follows a straight line. My own journey has had its share of uncertainty, setbacks, difficult decisions, and moments when things did not go according to plan. But those experiences taught me lessons that success alone never could.
I also believe that people should stop comparing their timelines with others. Someone else’s chapter ten cannot be compared with your chapter two. Focus on learning, building your skills, and becoming better than you were yesterday.
Another important lesson is to remain a student. Degrees, titles, awards, and positions can open doors, but continuous learning is what keeps you relevant. Especially today, when technology and knowledge are evolving so quickly, curiosity is a competitive advantage.
I would also encourage young people to identify a purpose beyond money. Financial success is important, but if your work solves a meaningful problem and creates value for others, the journey becomes far more fulfilling.
Finally, don’t be afraid to start small. Nutrillion itself began with a vision that was much bigger than the resources available at the time. What mattered was taking the first step and continuing to build.
My personal belief is simple: your circumstances may influence your starting point, but your consistency, learning, resilience, and willingness to keep moving can influence where you ultimately go.
And remember failure is not the end of the journey. Sometimes, it is the chapter that teaches you how to write the next one.
