Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
Avanti Deshpande, with a master’s degree in Food Science and nutrition, is one of the leading dieticians and nutrition consultants. She is also a popular YouTuber and the winner of the Women Achievers of Pune Award 2020. With a keen knowledge of the science of food, Avanti helps people achieve their fitness goals with easy-to-follow, interesting diets and workout regimes while staying true to her tagline ” learn the art to eat smart “. She has a passion for gourmet cooking and was fortunate enough to make a career out of it.
How you and your service is helping society?
Nutrition and the right diet plan are mandatory for every individual to maintain good health. Avanti has a master’s degree in Food Science and Nutrition with over 20 + years of experience making her a qualified Nutritionist. Diets are not ‘one size fits all as a result it’s very important to give personalised diets based on the requirements and medical conditions to avoid any side effects. Providing sound nutrition plans and educating people with the right nutrition knowledge which is backed by scientific evidence and research makes us help society to make the right choices from a credible source.
What is the USP of your work?
Avanti is a food scientist, nutritionist and recipe developer who gives people seeking nutrition advice a realistic plan which is backed with science and the latest research. Avanti believes in connecting people to the roots so the diets are not too fancy or difficult to follow but simple doable ones which people can adapt easily in day-to-day lives. Avanti also provides easy-to-cook recipes, eating out options and holiday survival guides keeping in mind that diet is a lifestyle change and not a diet fad.

Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
My profession is my passion and I am a hardcore entrepreneur. Coming up with new challenging Projects and alliances keeps me motivated in this field.
What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
Travelling is my passion. Exploring new places and finding out more about the culture and food habits is something which I enjoy. Every place has a new story to tell and it’s up to us to explore it.
Along with this cooking is my passion and I love to study the cuisine of different regions with unique ingredients. I experiment with the dishes and give them a healthy twist. This reflects so well in my cookbook ‘Learn the art to eat smart’.
You have achieved so much in life, any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life?
I still feel there is so much to achieve. Being humble and open to learning new things even from the younger generation is very important. It’s necessary to be a student lifelong to keep growing.
