Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine
- Could you introduce us to yourself and your business?
I am Dr Sulabhi Shyam. I am a Post-graduate in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics. I’ve been practising for the past 11 years. I specialize in micro endodontics, cosmetic dentistry, single sitting root canal, repeat root canal treatment and smile designing. Further, I have certifications in implant dentistry, digital dentistry and laser dentistry. I have national and international papers published under my name.
I have an experience of working with the best dental centres and hospitals across the country.
To provide the best treatment to my patients with more care and personal touch, I have set up my dental clinic by the name Bombay Dental Centre in Andheri West, Mumbai, with all the modern facilities under one roof.
- What is the role of your family in your achievements?
Throughout my childhood, my parents had emphasized the importance of pursuing a meaningful life. My father would motivate me to make the world a better place by following a path full of kindness and compassion. What role would suit such requirements better than a doctor?
- What was the one thing that had first persuaded you to enter into this field of industry?
I belong to a very modest middle-class family where healing people is one’s utmost responsibility towards mankind.
I’ve always loved the idea of making teeth look aesthetically pleasing. Dentistry, for me, is a very fulfilling career.
- With such cut-throat competition in this industry, what is it that makes the services you offer exceptional?
Honestly, I fail to understand this concept of competition in the field of Dentistry. We have 32 teeth, hence 32 more opportunities than any other speciality.
Dentistry has nine clinical branches and our centre has in-house consultants for them all. Our centre is equipped with the latest tools in dentistry ensuring world-class results within a short duration. Bombay Dental Centre offers services for all your dental needs under one roof.
- What is your ultimate aim as a doctor? How can you create a new path in your profession?
Ambition is the epicentre of perseverance. We are treating patients from across the globe. Still, there’s a long way to go.
I want to help my patients with their self-esteem and confidence to improve their oral health. I love the idea of giving people the perfect and functional smile they’ve always wanted.
- Does your work ever feel unexciting to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
I never feel unexcited by my work. Only sometimes, I feel guilty for not being able to give enough time to my little one. For mothers, I believe, guilt management can be just as important as time management.
- You have achieved so much in life. Is there any specific advice you’d like to share with the new people entering this industry?
Focus on learning, not on the grades. Learning brings success and life-long learning will bring you life-long success.
Trying to do it all and expecting that all could be done exactly the right way is a recipe for disappointment. Give yourself time and follow one step at a time.
