Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine.
Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
My name is Meghal Singh, and I am the managing director of my company, Mommy’s Chicken, a poultry processing startup. I started this business five years ago, intending to provide a hassle-free way for anyone who relishes purchasing high-quality chicken. I did my computer science engineering and a PG in finance from Pune and also did an entrepreneurship development course from the London School of Business.
Apart from this, I like travelling, and I have travelled to a few countries in Europe as a solo traveller. Travelling has made me come across some challenges, given me a new perspective and vision towards life, and boosted my confidence, which I also follow in my entrepreneurial life!
I am a friendly person who likes cooking and dancing.
How you and your service is helping society?
The poultry industry and the poultry vet market are very unorganised sectors. India ranks 6th in the world in poultry production, but there is still a significant gap between poultry production and poultry products being sold in the market. All the major poultry companies focus only on production but never on sales and marketing of the produced goods. There are very few companies that are also looking into this sector. Mommy’s Chicken is a brand focusing on hygienically selling antibiotic-free, value-added products. In our society, there are still open slaughtering houses and meat shops that are very unhygienic and cause a lot of environmental pollution. Also, the meat they sell is not according to food safety measures. Since COVID, our society has become more conscious about health and healthy products. So we serve FASSAI licenced antibiotic-free, farm-fresh, cool chain maintained premium quality chicken.
What is the USP of your work?

What are your Vision and Mission?
My vision is to expand my brand across India and become one of the leading companies in the field of poultry processing, as well as to raise domestic poultry industry standards to an international level.
What are your achievements in this industry?
We received a national award in 2020 for the best upcoming brand in the poultry industry by the Agriculture Today group.
Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
Since I am a sole proprietor, I am majorly responsible for everyday operational and management-related responsibilities, which may be onerous. Also, to keep me motivated and focused on my work, I take small breaks every three months and travel. I like to follow my morning routine, like going for a workout, which keeps me energetic throughout the day and brings out positive vibes.
What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
My hobbies include dancing, cooking, watching travel videos, working out at the gym, and the recent interest that I have discovered is travelling. I love travelling to different countries to explore their cultures and eat their local cuisines.
You have achieved so much in life, any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life.
Always be consistent and focused on your goals. No matter how hard it becomes, if you follow a simple routine and place one brick at a time, then one day, you will achieve what you have always imagined.
