Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine.
Could you introduce us to yourself and your business?
I am Neha Arora, the founder and creative head of Tradition Meets Trends. I was born and brought up in Punjab, Ludhiana, now married in Dehradun. I did my studies in Medicine. I was teaching in a medical college in Punjab but one thing which I was pretty sure, even when I was doing a job was that I have to do my own business and that has been related to Indian handicraft because I was always inclined towards the handicraft things. Even before starting my juttis brand, I did good research about this craft, I learned basic designing and even I art of making juttis.
What is the role of your family in your Achievements?
I am lucky in terms of family support. My father and my husband are the backbones of my business. Without them, this brand can never achieve the place, where it is today. My inlaws supports me in every possible way.
What was the one thing that had first persuaded you to enter into this field of industry?
My love for Indian handicrafts. I believe the Indian artisans are so talented. We just need to shape up that talent with our creativity. I have been a fan of Punjabi juttis since childhood. I wore juttis with denim even in my college days. I wanted to give this art a new version.
With such cut-throat competition in this industry, what is it that makes the services you offer exceptional?
I never compete with anyone. I always say, every brand is working hard and every brand is unique. You just need to be a better version of yourself today than you were yesterday. If you are using your own creativity and not copying designs from here and there, trust me people will love your work. The juttis which we make are super comfortable. Close attention is paid to the details and the cut of the jutti is different from the available ones in the market. These juttis make your feet look beautiful.
Your achievements in this industry are more than impressive. Would you like to share them with us today?
This brand is made by the people. We have never spent much on advertising. It’s just that word-of-mouth advertising has been so helpful to us. The credit goes to our clients. Tradition meets trends is a brand made by our clients.
Does your work ever feel unexciting to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
I have always loved my work. For me work is worship. Yes, there are days when you feel low but then it’s a part of life. You just need to be positive and consistent in your work.
You have achieved so much in life, is there any specific advice you’d like to share with the new people entering this industry?
The only advice I would like to give is, be you, don’t copy or follow anyone. Do a transparent business because the audience nowadays is smart enough, don’t try to fool them.
