Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
Payal Bansal is a famous Artist Entrepreneur and founder of Lippan Art Studio Jalgaon, who has devoted her entire life to encouraging her creativity in an art form!!
Judging a work of art and artist without taking the time to learn about its history, motivation and aspiration is every bit as superficial as judging a person by their appearance alone!!
Lippan is a traditional mural artwork of Gujarat made of clay and a mirror. The word Lippan kaam means clay or ‘dung’ in local Gujarati and ‘kaam’ denotes work. It is essentially mud work that incorporates mirrors. These artistic designs can be used to embellish the interior and exterior walls of the circular adobes. No wonder these scintillating murals bring life, gaiety and beauty to the lives of the Kutch people!!
The artistic piece of work is generally done by women of ‘The Rabari community, the nomadic pastoralists who moved to Kutch from Sindh 700-800 years ago. This art style has been passed down from generation to generation and is still practiced in different parts of the country.
Bansal is one such Lippan artist who has kept its form alive; a self-taught artist who struggled to establish the right process flow for making art pieces. After going through a lot of trial and error she managed to set up a final finished product.
As a business entrepreneur, she faced lot of challenges in finding right vendors for various raw materials. But by slowly and steadily building a strong network, she has overcome the adversity as a business owner!!
How you and your service is helping society?
Any Art form brings positivity, good vibes in the customer’s home/office or any other area where that art form is intended to use!! Lippan Art is no exception!! Positivity always brings prosperity!! We are sure our dedicated & timely service, as well as our quality products, have helped our customers towards bringing in a lot of happiness & positivity in their lives!!
Besides, we employ more than 10 female workers working in various capacities. They belong to the economically weaker section of the society. Their earnings have helped to raise not only their life standards but also their dependent families. Also, we outsource lot of work like drawing, sheet cutting, etc to other artists, and carpenters. In turn, we have helped the generation of income in their society as well!! In this way, our small venture is successful in bringing smiles on many needful faces!!
What is the USP of your work?
There are a lot of Lippan Artists available on Instagram. The main differentiating factor between them and us is our ability to successfully execute big wall art projects having areas starting from 15 square feet to more than 100 square feet!! The designing that we do on our small as well as big wall arts, the precision of the cone work, and our commitment to adhere to the timeline specified to the customers at the time of order are other differentiating factors!! Also, our wide product range from Toran, Wall Art, and Nameplates…. to big wall projects is literally unmatched by any other Lippan artist!!
So, to sum up, our USP is our wide product range as well as our expertise in successfully executing big wall art!!

Vision: – To promote and ensure the use of Lippan Art as the most preferred art form of every household domestically as well as internationally.

Creativity: – We will equip ourselves to understand the unique and challenging demands of the customers. We will always be willing to create innovative and attractive designs that would meet the customer’s specific requirements.
Customer Service: – We would ensure dedicated, humble and personalized service to our customers right from order placement to order dispatch and to any support required after the customer receives the order. Our motto is not only a satisfied customer but a delighted customer!!

In the year 2022 on International Women’s Day, the Rotary Club of Jalgaon Gold City has felicitated with the prestigious award named “EXTRAORDINAARI”

Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated toward it?
Yes, Sometimes the constant work pressure imparts tiredness and doing the same work again and again feels tedious. During such times, I do take short breaks from work and spend time with my family and friends!! Going out for a movie with family or inviting friends at home over weekends prove effective boosters and keep me motivated!! Also, the constant encouragement and appreciation I receive for my work from my customers as well as from my followers keep me motivated and inspire me to achieve more and more!!
What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
Other than my passion Lippan Art, I love to travel. I have a special affection for nature!! I love to go on beaches, enjoy mountains, jungles and the list goes on… So, I make sure that every year, I spend a few days with family in proximity to nature. May it be a beach in Goa, the beautiful hill stations of Uttarakhand or the pristine backwaters of Kerala!!
Apart from travelling, I really enjoy reading novels, spending time with friends over weekends…
You have achieved so much in life, any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life?
Though I feel I still have a lot more to achieve and this is just the beginning, I am happy with whatever I have got in such a small-time frame!!
My advice to readers will be “to find out what you are passionate about and once you identify your passion convert it into your dream career!! There is nothing more wonderful and miraculous than to have someone’s passion as his/her career choice. It will help in constant motivation and the path leading towards growth and success would be much easier!!”
