Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine.
Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
I am a trained chef, and I learnt culinary art and hospitality management in Switzerland and the US.
After training and working abroad, I decided to return to India and start my own business. I started with a tiny place in the thane pachpakadi thane area. People loved our food and decided to venture into a more significant place with a more extensive menu, and the response was excellent. We are an Italian American cafe called twisties specializing in wraps: pasta, hand-rolled pizza and artisanal coffee. Also, I am a culinary consultant and help set up bars and restaurants.
How you and your service is helping society?
Although we plan to get into social work in a small capacity, our work employs much local and migrant staff. They depend on their salaries to run their families as we rely on them to run our daily operations. Also, we are into community building gathering like-minded people interested in different cuisines that are rare and less heard of.
What is the USP of your work?
We understand what people want. Also, we have a good presence of mind about the changing trends in the market both locally and internationally and can present them uniquely.
What are your Vision and Mission?
I always aim to grow more prominent, and my mission is to have an outlet in every town and city. Also, I have a keen interest in working with cuisines which are less known and want to make these rare cuisines accessible to the ordinary person in a very authentic and traditional way without burning a hole in their wallets.
What are your achievements in this industry?
I am a recipient of the prestigious national startup award. I am not restricted to a single cuisine and have worked in various cuisines in the past. I have also worked with several restaurant startups as a consultant and successfully set up their business. Also, my restaurant/ café will be turning 7 this year.
Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated toward it?
Even though running a food business is very stressful and tiring, running a restaurant with all of its minute decisions makes me happy and keeps me going, but you know the battle is far from over. To reach the goals, we need to do this consistently day and night without tiring. If achieving goals were so easy, it wouldn’t be fun then.
What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
I love travelling. I usually take time off to travel and see a new city every month or two. I am into extreme sports and adventure activities like bungee jumping, scuba diving and cliff jumping. I also like to experience new cultures and foods and always try to bring them back with me.
You have achieved so much in life. Any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life?
Honestly, I haven’t achieved so much. I still have a long way to go, but if you ask me, I will say Chase your dreams. Try making a career in your hobby. You will never feel you are working. Also, if a point comes in your life where you have to choose money, don’t feel shy or ashamed to choose it over something else, money might not be the most crucial thing, but money does play a massive role in life. Whatever path you choose, having a method to the madness is critical to staying organized and reducing chaos.
