Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
I, Deepika Saboo, have just finished my certification in Women’s Health and Nutrition Care from the NIND, an ISO and IAO-certified institute. Starting from being a Food Science and Nutrition graduate to pursuing my MBA in Hospital and Health care. I worked as an Admin Manager at B. D. Mehta Heart Institute, Surat. Then I got married and had kids.
As my family grew, I felt like something was missing in my life. So, I decided to pursue my passion in the nutrition field. The past three years have been transformative. One of the biggest rewards of being in this field was getting to meet many inspiring people who were passionate about their health.
Firstly, I got certified in Child Nutrition. After a few months, I found there was a rising demand for my work, and I was finally ready to make an impact on the world. I decided to open my own nutrition practice to help people across the world manage their health.
At the same time, I conducted workshops and seminars for people to share my knowledge with them. My business proved successful as more and more people began to take notice. I worked with a diverse clientele – from kids to senior citizens – helping them all achieve better health through nutrition.
I soon realized how fulfilling this was, as I could help people make better decisions about their food intake, exercise routine, and overall lifestyle. The best part for me was the feeling of accomplishment when I saw positive changes in the lives of people— from being overweight to losing weight or from having poor eating habits to eating healthy.
How are you and your services helping society?
As I discussed my return to the field of nutrition, I found myself gaining clients even as I was still updating my knowledge and skills. In particular, I attracted clients seeking advice on issues such as diabetes, weight loss, and child nutrition. As a qualified nutritionist and child nutrition counsellor, I utilize a scientific, food-based approach to assess the dietary habits of each individual and develop a personalized meal plan.
For my clients who were mothers struggling to provide healthy meals for their children, I offered guidance on the benefits of fresh, nutritious foods and educated them on how to promote healthy eating habits. Additionally, I worked with each client to create personalized dietary plans aimed at improving their weight, mood, and energy levels.
At times, I had to help clients recognize and modify unhealthy eating habits in order to implement a more wholesome dietary plan. Through it all, I remained dedicated to improving the health and well-being of each client who walked through my door. I have assisted my clients in adjusting their healthy lifestyle choices and identifying detrimental eating habits. This included the implementation of a healthier diet plan tailored to their specific needs and goals. Additionally, I evaluated their physical activity level and preferences to suggest appropriate modifications to their routine. By assessing their stress levels, I also provided techniques to alleviate stress and promote mental well-being.
What is the USP of your work?
As a passionate nutritionist, my unique selling proposition lies in my unwavering commitment to helping individuals achieve their health goals. Through a combination of education, health promotion, and counseling, I strive to empower my clients to make informed lifestyle choices. I remain accessible to my clients and regularly assess and communicate with them to ensure their progress is on track.
My primary focus is on nutrition and food education, an area in which I am dedicated to lifelong learning. To this end, I have obtained a Women’s Health Nutrition certificate to broaden my scope of knowledge.
Effective communication is key to understanding my clients’ needs and providing them with the moral support and motivation they require. I endeavor to listen to my clients’ concerns and gain insight into their emotional and mental states. This approach facilitates what I consider a motivational interview, whereby my clients can provide simple answers that allow me to understand their unique perspectives. Rest assured that my commitment to my clients is unwavering, and I remain dedicated to helping them achieve success in their health journeys.

VISION
My ultimate goal is to extend my expertise in nutrition and counseling to patients in Jaipur, India and beyond, promoting better health and disease prevention through the effective application of nutritional knowledge. Through my efforts, I aim to enhance overall human well-being and serve as a valuable asset to the international healthcare community.

As a dedicated and passionate nutritionist, my mission is two-fold. Firstly, I strive to serve the healthcare sector to the best of my knowledge, continuously expanding my wealth of experience and education. Additionally, I aim to disseminate fundamental nutritional knowledge to the general public through innovative and engaging social media content. As advice, I would recommend that regardless of your dietary preferences, you prioritize your well-being by incorporating a substantial portion of plant-based foods into your meals. Opt for nutrient-rich varieties such as beans, lentils, whole grains, vegetables, and fruits, which offer numerous health benefits. In addition, adopting such an eating pattern is not only beneficial for you but also for the environment.
However, it is advisable to steer clear of processed foods as they often contain altered ingredients that may have negative impacts on your health, including added sugars, refined oils, salt, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, colors, and flavors. Consequently, replacing these with wholesome, natural foods may significantly enhance your overall health and well-being.
In order to optimize the functioning of our body, mind, and gut, it is crucial that we prioritize consistent and adequate nourishment. A diverse and colorful diet can improve our overall nutritional intake and promote feelings of fullness. It cannot be emphasized enough how fundamental quality sleep is to our overall health. In fact, individuals who experience poor sleep are particularly susceptible to weight gain and obesity, as they may be prone to consuming foods high in fat, sugar, and calories. It is therefore recommended to prioritize a healthy sleep routine in order to maintain optimal health.
One more recommendation I would like to add is Monthly Meal Plans. This involves assessing the contents of your kitchen, planning your required items accordingly, and practicing efficient food preparation. The key to successful meal planning includes utilizing convenient recipes, organizing your weekly menu, and creating an itemized grocery list to optimize your pantry. The benefits of a well-supplied pantry extend to accommodating unexpected meal needs. There is no need to stock an excess of food items, only a sufficient selection of wholesome options such as protein sources, vegetables, and whole grains. Enhance the taste of your dishes with some basic ingredients such as broth, dried herbs and spices, a few oils, and the addition of vinegar.”
