Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
I’m Ishraque J. Gulrays, a former All India ranked lawn tennis player who competed at the national and international levels; my lawn tennis accomplishments have brought many laurels and trophies to my school, college, and myself. I have achieved national recognition thanks to all the professional guidance I have fortunately received and my dedication to the sport. At the junior level, I was one of the most renowned and well-known lawn tennis players in India. Success is not the destination, it’s just a journey, and that’s the thought I live my life by.
I have always been inclined to all sports. I truly believe playing a sport can inculcate better habits and transform a person’s behaviour for the better. I understood the lack of time and space in people’s lives as they play sports digitally and not physically. I wanted to connect people back to playing actual sports, not just virtual sports. It didn’t matter what sport they were playing. Thus, came the idea of Sportnicians – The Sports People.
Sportnicians-The Sports People aim to help you reconnect with the hidden sports person in each of you. We have come to believe that each of us is caught in the everyday hustle of our lives and we are practically running a race against time. We want to change that through sports. We believe, and have experienced it ourselves, that playing a sport, streamlines your behaviour and helps you realize your goals better. It teaches you everything from time management to discipline. It helps you plan and manage better and makes you a better individual. Sportnicians are here to cater to everyone, from first-time participants to professional athletes.
How you and your service is helping society?
By being a one-stop destination for everything sports-related, we are saving you time, effort, and money in any given sport or event. Additionally, we create and present opportunities to many underprivileged kids where they get to play sports along with all the necessary sporting essentials.
We are also focusing on player management and helping dissolve the gap between a player and their sport-related ambitions.
What is the USP of your work?
Passion for sports is the core of our business. Our goal is to ensure that each and every individual is able to experience and continues playing the actual sport and not the virtual one. Through the basic principles of sports, we want people to learn, grow, and excel in their spheres of life. We are a sports management company that handles leagues, caters to corporates, and schools, and even provides individual holistic development through sports and other engagement techniques.
What is your vision and mission?
We aim to make India a giant sporting nation that presents equal opportunities for sport. We want every citizen, no matter what their age, to experience playing the actual sport rather than the digital one.

Sportnicians-The Sports People is the official management company for the Tennis Premier League (TPL), which is equivalent to the Indian Premier League (IPL) in tennis in India.
Sportnicians-The Sports People have been the supporting association for the Times of India Global Sports Show 2018.
Sportnicians-The Sports People have been regularly invited to the Mumbai City FC Summits, and our academy students have escorted the Indian Super League (ISL) players during the ISL on the football field.

Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
They say when you do what you love, you will love what you do. The same holds true for me. Yes, I do come across challenges, but there isn’t anything that planning, hard work, perseverance, and optimism can’t solve.
What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
I love to sing, travel, play different sports, and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
I look forward to doing a lot of social activities as well.
You have achieved so much in life. Any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to help them grow in life?
Nothing in life comes easily; you have to work for it. You must strive every day to become the best version of yourself. Before others say they are proud of you, you need to make yourself proud.
