Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine.

Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
Hanging Hammer is a luxury interior design and architectural firm based in Hyderabad. It is committed to delivering inspiring and timeless spaces, be it your home, hospitality, retail, offices, or other commercial space.
With over 15+ years of experience, we are counted upon to create design magic by capably experimenting with space, colours, materials, finishings, and light.
We are based out of Hyderabad. However, Hanging Hammer works across India as well as globally on various projects, including residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality.
I believe that any company is as good as its team, and Hanging Hammer has a young, energetic, multi-faceted team who understands their roles and responsibilities and goes above and beyond to ensure that the project goes seamlessly in terms of design and execution. They are experimental and research-specific materials, design, and execution styles needed for the project. It is our passion to design and build inspiring spaces!

How do you and your service is helping society?
At Hanging Hammer, we feel very passionately about what we do. We touch the lives of people, and our work is highly up-close and personal. Working 4-6 months with our clients, it begins to feel like family. We take it as our responsibility to give the best to all our customers and make their journey of building their house memorable.
As a company, we never make decisions solely based on financial gains. Making money is a huge motivator in all of our lives, but I have learned that you should never travel down a road just because there is a promise of financial gain. You need to have a real passion for what you are doing and make the decisions worth it.
It is an aspiration, art, and passion that drives our work to do better and greater work for our clients to derive immense satisfaction when we see that smile on their faces.

What is the USP of your work?
The Hanging Hammer signifies the importance of Concept to Built, which places the emphasis on conceptualizing fresh designs from scratch and then giving them life by building the space with great care.
Hanging Hammer prides itself on taking on specialized projects with a high amount of attention to detail and an elaborate design style and execution plan. The Hanging Hammer follows a very detailed process through the design phase, which flows into the project execution phase with an appropriate timeline and budget adherence.
Our core competency lies in the comprehensive approach we undertake while executing any project. We take turnkey projects and cater to clients’ end-to-end requirements, with us being the single point of contact throughout. Our work is boutique and highly personalized, catering to every minute requirement and fulfilling them within promised timelines with assured quality.
We craft every given space with individuality, personalization, and sustainability in mind.
Our designs are a blend of our imagination and creativity, depending on how our clients envision their space.
Timeline adherence and quality of workmanship and services are our top priorities for project execution.
Unique, sustainable, and personalized are part of our design motto.

What is your vision and mission?
Our vision for Hanging Hammer is to diversify into various segments, including retail, hospitality, and commercial aspects of architecture and interiors, and create a one-stop solution for all.
Our mission is to ensure consistency, quality, and full-proof systems and processes that ensure transparency and customer-centricity and earn customer satisfaction, loyalty, and advocacy.

What are your achievements in this industry?
We celebrate small wins and give them a lot of importance. I believe we have come a long way as a company and established ourselves quite well in terms of our client base, vendor partners, and a robust and talented team.
We have done some spectacular designs and built, and we take much pride in constructing the iconic entrance for a very reputed institute in Hyderabad after 20 years of its inception.

Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
I would be lying if I said that entrepreneurship does not feel overwhelming at numerous points. There is no shortcut to hard work, however cliché it might sound, and hard work is, of course, tedious.
Then, I remember my ‘why’, and it almost brings me back to focus. Entrepreneurship is empowering and, at the same time, comes with a lot of responsibilities. No one is there to thank you for doing your work, so it is necessary to be explicit about my ‘why’. When you are entirely and deeply committed to your ‘why’, then the grind becomes only a part of the game.

What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
I love all kinds of sports and play them whenever I get the chance. I am particularly interested in cricket (like the rest of the country) and wish that I played it more often. Table tennis is also a childhood passion of mine, and I play some tournaments now and then.
I also have a close-knit group of friends who are my stress busters, and we meet often and spend exciting times with them. I am socially active and love to meet people from different walks of life. I am genuinely interested in human beings and connect with them quite easily.
Lastly, my family keeps me grounded and makes me realize that no matter what I do, achieve, or fail, they will always be my pillar of strength, motivation, and place to rest at the end of the day.

You have achieved so much in life. Any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to grow in life?
I still do not think I have achieved so much in life while making it my endeavor to constantly learn new things and keep myself updated with new products, technology, ideas and innovations. I firmly believe that the day you think that you can not discover anymore, you stop growing. Learning gives you perspective, dimension, and depth to your thought process, which helps you to grow mentally, intellectually, and emotionally.
Taking a risk in life is very important to push your limits and know what you are capable of. What got you ‘here’ will never take you ‘there’, so keep doing different things in different ways and do not be scared to explore the unknown and take risks in life. Nothing great was ever achieved in a comfortable zone or by luck.
Lastly, I believe that you have to market yourself because no one else will do it better than you. In today’s busy world, it is effortless to lose yourself in translation. If you know your worth and want the world to know it, you must passionately get out there and give every ounce of your energy to make yourself and your company visible because you believe that you do nothing but the best.
