Interviewed by The Success Today – A Digital Webzine.
1. Could you tell us about yourself and your work?
I consider myself a stylish and loving mom to three beautiful kids, Devina, Vivan, and Aarna, and wife to Vivek Gupta. I love fashion and travel. I am proud to carry forward the legacy of the iconic GKB group. I was a homemaker for 12–13 years before deciding to follow my passion of being an entrepreneur. Coming from and married into a hardworking business family, I have a strong desire to market products directly to their intended audience. My key areas of expertise are operations and social media.
2. How do you and your service is helping society?
YourSpex believes in providing better fitment of eyeglasses to society at an affordable price. Recently, we conducted a free eye check-up camp for below-the-line factory employees who do not have access to a good eye check-up facility. Most of them didn’t have any idea that they needed prescription eyewear for the longest time.
3. What is the USP of your work?
The company today leverages technology and offers an AI-led digital shopping experience to the end-user. The AI programme not only recommends the best-looking eyewear but also ensures the right fitment. The technology used captures the facial data points and then recommends best-suited frames using a proprietary recommendation engine.
4. What are your vision and mission?
We aspire to offer highly durable and superior quality eyewear with futuristic designs at affordable costs without any compromises on quality and craftsmanship. YourSpex works on a unique model that is a perfect amalgamation of style, sustainability, and affordability, thus offering you the luxury of choosing premiere designs and styles, all crafted with utmost perfection and diligence.
5. What are your achievements in this industry?
We have successfully conducted Eye Check-Up and Try-On camps at 15 different offices and are trying to conduct more corporate tie-ups. YourSpex also conducted approximately 700+ home eye check-ups and try-ons for individuals.
6. Does your work ever feel tedious to you? If so, how do you stay driven and motivated towards it?
Yes, it feels very tedious, especially when our customers share negative feedback. The only thing that motivates us is to be a brand that listens to its customers’ reviews and looks for ways to serve them better and provide top-notch service to all customers for a satisfactory purchase.
7. What are your hobbies and specific interests other than your profession?
I love to be on-trend at all times. Because we work in the fashion accessory industry, I like to stay up to date on all of the latest fashion trends from around the world. Whenever I have time, I either read about eyewear fashion trends, travel, or croon my favourite music.
8. You have achieved so much in life. Any specific advice you’d like to share with our readers to help them grow in life?
I always believe that no one should ever give up on their dreams. Your life can turn around at any point in time, and you won’t believe how capable you are until and unless you give it a try. I started my journey of being a co-founder after being a housemaker for 12–13 years, and now I can never think of myself not working for YourSpex. Whether you are in your teenage years or have a family to take care of, never miss out on the opportunity you have at the moment. You never know what’s waiting for you at the other end.
